The Subconscious is a historical fiction which predates Nigeria Independence. The story started in the 30s and extended through to the Nigerian civil war in the late 60s. It is an interesting story that leaves the readers with such un-anticipated ending.
One thing Ojuri village and Ayedun village had in common was their traditional mode of worship which mandated occultic practices. This was the only solution Koya had to tackle the most daunting problem of his life. However, Akin was the ill luck village drunkard who was always present at every evil occurrences in the village. As usual, he was able to successfully interrupt two vital rituals that took place at the same time in two different villages. Thank goodness for Father McPherson’s arrival which herald the birth of Thomas who later became an officer in the Nigerian Army.
