Little Ogaba is upset because he missed seeing the River Benue Bridge during a family trip to his grandparents’ home in Benue State. Despite all he did to stay awake, he had fallen asleep and missed the wonderful sight. To soothe him, Grandma shares a tale of Atube, a mystical creature living in a cave far from the village. At night, Atube supposedly flies and whisks away crying children to its lair.
True to Grandma’s words, Atube appears to Little Ogaba that night, spiriting him away to its cave. However, instead of succumbing to fear, Little Ogaba cleverly engages the Atubes by helping them clean their dusty lair, ultimately persuading the creatures to let him return home.
